Verisoara mea tocmai a ajuns in US cu programul work & travel. E in Richmond , Virginia. Cei de la agentia de munca i-au gasit un apartament cu 2 camere la 1300$/ luna. Astea sunt preturile? Sau sa mai caute? ( e inchiriat pe termen scurt 3 luni )
La ambasada in Bucuresti i-au pus viza pe 5 ani - neobisnuit - restul au primit viza pe 4 luni. Poate oare sa stea 6 luni / an cu viza asta?
As vrea de asemenea sa ii gasesc ceva de lucru chiar si in alt stat . ceva idei? acum are un job unde lucreaza 30 ore/saptamana - evident ca nu e o afacere din cauza programului scurt.

Eu stiu Virginia cat de cat (nu Richmond, e departe de DC), 2 camere inseamna 1 sau 2 bedroom? in orice caz, as zice ca ar putea gasi si mai bine, unde stateam noi era $1000 pt 1-bedroom, frumos si nu cel mai ieftin, acuma ce sa zic, mi-e greu sa cred ca e mai scump in Richmond decat in DC, dar precis nu stiu.

Eu tot cu intrebarile mele. Mi-aduc aminte ca intr-o vreme se discuta despre clase de CPA (certified public accountant). M-ar interesa si pe mine pe unde as putea sa ma uit si eu de asa ceva. Stiu ca era cineva din California parca si zicea ca ar fi ceva care ar tine vreo 6 luni cu ore 2 zile seara in timpul saptamanii sau sambata 8 ore.
Dati-mi si mie idei pe unde sa ma uit, ca parca la college nu-mi vine mie sa cred ca doar sambata ar trebui sa ma duc si nu as putea acum sa ma inscriu la 1 an de zile cursuri.
Sau Oana, daca nu ma injuri bine de tot, poate imi dai si mie capitolul unde s-a discutat. Pupici.

Since the cost of prescription drugs is so outrageous, I thought everyone should know about this. Please read the following and pass it on. IT pays to shop around. This helps to solve the mystery as to why they can afford to put a Walgreen's on every corner. On Monday night, Steve Wilson, an investigative reporter for Channel 7 News in Detroit, did a story on generic drug price gouging by pharmacies. He found in his investigation that some of these generic drugs were marked up as much as 3,000% or more. Yes, that's not a typo... three thousand percent! So often, we blame the drug companies for the high cost of drugs, and usually rightfully so. But in this case, the fault clearly lies with the pharmacies themselves. For example, if you had to buy a prescription drug, and bought the name brand, you might pay $100 for 100 pills. The pharmacist might tell you that if you get the generic equivalent, they would only cost $80, making you think you are "saving" $20. What the pharmacist is not telling you is that those 100 generic pills may have only cost him $10!
At the end of the report, one of the anchors asked Mr. Wilson whether or not there were any pharmacies that did not adhere to this practice, and he said that COSTCO consistently charged little over their cost for the generic drugs.
I went to the COSTCO site, where you can look up any drug, and get its online price. It says that the in-store prices are consistent with the online prices. I was appalled. Just to give you one example from my own experience, I had to use the drug, Compazine, which helps prevent nausea in chemo patients.
I used the generic equivalent, which cost $54.99 for 60 pills at CVS. I checked the price at COSTCO , and I could have bought 100 pills for $19.89. For 145 of my pain pills, I paid $72.57. I could have got 150 at COSTCO for $28.08.
I would like to mention, that although COSTCO is a "membership" type store, you do NOT have to be a member to buy prescriptions there, as it is a federally regulated substance. You just tell them at the door that you wish to use the pharmacy, and they will let you in. (this is true)
I went there this past Thursday and asked them. I am asking each of you to please help me by copying this letter, and passing it into your own e-mail, and send it to everyone you know with an e-mail address.

Chestia cu medicamentele am citit-o intr-un email pe care l-am primit acum cateva luni. E intr-adevar cam ametitoare, insa nu cred ca se pot face multe.
Sanzi, sper ca ai avut un zbor placut si ai ajuns cu bine acasa. Deja ne e dor de tine. Scuze ca n-am reusit sa vorbim la telefon inainte sa pleci. Sper sa te prind online din cand in cand.
Laura, mi-ai luat-o inainte. Voiam si eu sa mentionez de necesitatea unui degree in accounting, nu de alta, dar si eu tot spre asta ma orientez. CPA-ul e numai cireasa de pe tort. Munca reala e cu basic accounting in college. Am auzit insa ca testarea pentru CPA e destul de serioasa si ca sunt foarte multe cerinte si dupa ce ai absolvit cursul. Avem cativa CPAs in familie, si daca vrei sa iti mentii practica trebuie sa fii verificat periodic de alti CPAs (un fel de audit), astfel incat unii renunta dupa ceva ani si continua doar ca si accountant.
Va spun mai multe si mai precis in cativa ani, cand ma mai apropii de pasul respectiv

Mirela, ce facem weekend-ul asta si de 4Iulie? S-ar putea ca Andrea sa stea cu mama ei. Noi avem o vedere destul de faina a focului de artificii din Aventura, dar fara prea multe adaosuri. Te sun dupa pranz (acum sunt la lucru, f ocupata, dupa cum se vede) si poate gasim ceva idei.
