How do you go from talking and joking to brain dead? How do you go from healthy and vital to... not? You’re 45 years old and you slip in some snow and you’re dead? Wtf? I mean, what kind of universe do we live in where this can happen? I understand the medical stuff, the science. In my head, I get it. I just don’t... get it.

Following a freak skiing accident Monday that left the Tony Award winning actress with severe brain injuries, 45 year-old Natasha Richardson was pronounced dead Wednesday at New York's Lenox Hill Hospital.The daughter of legendary film actress Vanessa Redgrave and Academy Award winning director/producer Tony Richardson, the niece of actress Lynn Redgrave, the sister of Joely Richardson and the wife of actor Liam Neeson, Richardson's family issued the following statement yesterday:Liam Neeson, his sons, and the entire family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Natasha. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time


Richardson may be remembered best by mainstream audiences as Lindsay Lohan’s mom in Disney’s 1998 remake of “The Parent Trap,” as well as for her 2002 performance as an ice-queen socialite opposite Jennifer Lopez in “Maid in Manhattan.” In theatrical circles, Richardson was well known for her Tony Award winning portrayal of Sally Bowles in Broadway’s 1998 production of “Cabaret.”


“Richardson radiated intelligence in everything she did,” Film scholar David Kipen told the Washington Post today. “She won raves for Shakespeare, Chekhov, O'Neill, Williams and Ibsen, and she could sing, besides. If the movies never knew quite what to do with her, that strikes me more as the medium's fault than hers."


Richardson is survived by her husband of 14 years, Liam Neeson, and their two sons, Micheál and Daniel.

Nicidecum, a cazut pe pirtia de incepatori cu instructorul linga ea, s-a chemat salva-montul care a venit, ea s-a ridicat dar conform procedurii a trebuit sa fie transportata la baza muntelui pe un fel de sanie de salva-mont ca nu stiu cum ii zice. Ajunsa la baza i s-a propus sa fie dusa la doctor si ea a refuzat spunind ca e bine. Instructorul a condus-o pina la hotel. Dupa o ora a inceput sa simta rau si a fost chemata salvarea. A fost dusa la spitalul local si pe urma transportata cu elicopterul la un spital din Montreal. Dupa o zi a fost transportata la NY. S-a mai spus ca salvarea a fost chemata imediat dar cind au ajuns la fata locului li s-a spus ca nu mai e nevoie de ei. Stirea asta n-a fost confirmata de hotel.

Dzeu s-o odihneasca in pace. Ce accident stupid si ce efemera e viata. Eu nu ma gindesc decit la copiii ei...
